The Watson Guest House
America's Best Beach Town
between 9am and 6pm.
The Watson House is currently being operated as a locally historic guest
house on Chincoteague Island. The Watson House has a social parlor,
dining room, country kitchen with a garden window, six bedrooms and
seven baths. The laundry room is equipped with a large capacity washer
and two dryers.
The Watson House is built in the classic tradition for large homes on Chincoteague Island. It has a simple wrap-around porch where morning coffee and biscuits can be enjoyed in the early sunlight. The house, built in 1898, follows the Victorian style of that era with antique queen size beds and furniture.
Prior to opening in 1992, the house was upgraded with all new wiring and all new plumbing. The porch and house roof have a (2008) 50-year "carriage house" roof. The Watson House also has a fire suppression system in every room of the house including the attic. The front and side lawn have in-ground irrigation sprinklers. The Watson House has had a successful twenty year run as a Bed and Breakfast. This business is an instant hit with the touring public. More than 1.4 million tourists visit the adjoining island of Assateague where the wild Chincoteague ponies graze and wander freely.
Available at $459,000.00 as a turnkey operation.
